Ahilyanagar - A landscape that still holds vast, relatively undisturbed grassland habitat, in contrast to much of Pune. That window is closing fast as anthropogenic pressure rises, making conservation here all the more urgent. Across two talukas here, our field team and local Wildlife Watchers have worked together to build individual profiles of resident wolves, focusing on breeding pairs that anchor pack stability in this landscape. As development creeps into Ahilyanagar's open habitats, this work is a race against time, to understand and protect these wolves before the landscape changes irreversibly.
