Meet the Wolves of Maharashtra — starting with a post about wolves of Pune district. Take a look into our ongoing photo-identification project tracking individually recognizable wolves across six districts, with a special focus on breeding pairs that anchor pack stability. Built through years of fieldwork with our team and local Wildlife Watchers, this is a race to understand and protect one of India's most understudied large carnivores.

Now, amid a growing recognition of rangelands globally, officials are working to map the nation’s ailing grasslands, with a view to restoring these vital ecosystems.
